It's a wrap! We are among the 69 neophyte and returning members of the House of Representatives in the 20th Congress who graduated from the three-day Executive Course on Legislation conducted by the University of the Philippines from July 7 to 9. Now, we are even more motivated to push forward for our visions for the Third District of Negros Occidental. Dala ko ang pagpalangga, pagsalig, kag pagsuporta sang bug-os nga Tersero Distrito sa akon pagsugod sa pagsakdag sang aton mga handum. Madamo nga salamat!
July 30, 2025First Day as Chairman of the Special Committee on Creative Industries
Basic, trabaho agad! 💪🏼 Isang araw matapos tayong maluklok bilang Chairman ng Special Committee on Creative Industries, sinimulan natin agad ang trabaho sa pamamagitan ng pagbisita sa ArteFino Fair 2025 at Offbeat Pop Up. Nakipagpulong din tayo kay Cong. Toff De Venecia, dating Chairman ng komite, kasama ang kanyang team upang matutunan ang mga inisyatibong nasimulan na at ang mga hamon na dapat tugunan. We also met the members of BINI together with Mr. Michael Tan during the Alagang Suki Festival along with other artists like Gary V and Belle Mariano. We were honored to be invited by UNILAB and Mercury Drug for their 80th Anniversary Concert. Naniniwala tayo na ang mga ito ay mahalagang unang hakbang sa mas malalim na pag-unawa sa kalagayan ng creative industries sa ating bansa. Pinatibay nito ang ating pananaw, pinalawak ang ating koneksyon, at pinatindi ang ating paninindigan na itaguyod ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipinong alagad ng sining at malikhaing manggagawa. 🇵🇭

“A brighter future is within reach… but it will not be handed to us.” Sa ating pinakaunang privilege speech, we called for strategic investments in the creative industries. They are already a significant economic force, a jobs engine, and a global strength of Filipinos. With proper funding, policies, and partnerships, the creative industries can serve as both a short-term economic boost and a long-term driver of national prosperity, global competitiveness, and cultural pride. Kaya naman atin itong pagyamanin at pagtuunan ng panahon at pansin. Mabuhay ang Malikhaing Pinoy!
