Victorias Breaks Ground on First-Ever 11-A-Side Football Pitch in West Visayas

Victorias City is making another history as the first 11-aside Football Pitch equipped with synthetic turf in the Western Visayas Region will soon rise in Victorias National High School, April 27. Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez led the groundbreaking ceremony for the project together with ACT-CIS Party List Representative Hon. Erwin Tulfo, Third District Representative Hon. Jose Francisco “Kiko” Benitez, and Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Portia Mallorca. Mayor Javi proudly emphasized in his message that the said football pitch is the first-ever 11-a-side synthetic turf football pitch in the region. Hence, the City Mayor shared he aspires to make Victorias City a sports tourism hub in the Province of Negros Occidental. The said 11-a-side artificial turf football pitch will not only enhance the training and competition experience for student-athletes but will augment a bright future for the local sports industry. Negros Occidental Regional Football Association led by their President Jose Miguel Valmayor, Victorias City Schools Division Office, local football associations, and VNHS faculty and students were all present to witness the groundbreaking ceremony. The football pitch is set to be completed after five months. As construction progresses, anticipation mounts for the completion of the state-of-the-art sporting venue, which is poised to elevate Victorias City's status as a premier destination for football enthusiasts across Western Visayas.
