Rep. Javi Benitez Completes Executive Course on Legislation

Negros Occidental Third District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez was among the 69 neophyte and returning lawmakers who completed the Executive Course on Legislation conducted by the University of the Philippines from July 7 to 9 at the House of Representatives. The three-day intensive program, held in partnership with UP’s Center for Policy and Executive Development, aimed to equip lawmakers with deeper institutional knowledge and practical skills on the legislative process, policy-making, and good governance. The course covered topics such as national budget preparation, committee deliberations, bill drafting, and congressional oversight functions. Rep. Javi Benitez, the youngest legislator from Negros Occidental, expressed his renewed drive and commitment following the training. “Now, we are even more motivated to push forward for our visions for the Third District of Negros Occidental,” he said in his social media post. The executive course is part of the House of Representatives’ continuing initiative to strengthen legislative capacity and uphold responsive, data-driven, and citizen-centered policy-making across all districts. *
