July 05, 2025

Negros Occidental Third District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez launched four infrastructure projects in Victorias City: the Tison Bridge and Multi-Purpose Building in Gawahon, Barbecue Plaza at the Organic Market, and the Multi-Purpose Building and Cultural Center in Barangay XIII, July 1. Rep. Javi Benitez, together with Senator Mark Villar and Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, led the ceremony for the construction of a 30-linear-meter bridge and its adjoining concrete road, designed with Portland Cement Concrete Pavement. The road includes a 3.5-meter lane width and a 6.10-meter carriageway, with added slope protection to prevent soil erosion and ensure structural resilience during extreme weather events. Furthermore, together with Representative Brian Daniel Poe Llamanzares of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan, Rep. Javi also led the ceremonial groundbreaking of the Multi-purpose and Cultural Building at Sidlak Victorias Global City in Barangay XIII. This facility is envisioned as a hub for creativity, cultural preservation, and civic engagement, and a center that can provide accessible spaces for artistic expression, youth development, and community events. To augment frontline security forces, providing a dedicated space for coordination, operations, and response, Rep. Javi also broke ground for a Multi-Purpose Building for police and military personnel near Barangay XI People’s Hall. The Representative personally donated the two-hectare lot for the building and acknowledged former Senator Francis Tolentino for facilitating the project’s funding. In addition, Rep. Javi also launched the redevelopment of the Barbecue Plaza (Tun-ogan), a beloved food hub to be transformed into a more sanitary, organized, and vendor-friendly space. With these initiatives underway, Rep. Javi has laid down a clear roadmap for development, anchored in culture, service, and the everyday needs of the people. *
