Rep. Javi Benitez, TESDA Open Scholarship Grants to Beneficiaries

Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), in partnership with the Office of Third District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez, opened a total of 2,275 scholarship slots to strengthen efforts in upskilling constituents across the Third District of Negros Occidental, July 14. The launch follows a series of consultations with local chief executives from July 7 to 15, and a strategic coordination meeting between the District Office and TESDA - NIR Regional Director Niña Connie Dodd on July 14. The scholarship offerings span high-demand courses in construction, agriculture, culinary arts, and welding. These include Cookery NC II, Carpentry NC II, Masonry NC I, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NC I and NC II, Animal Production (Poultry-Chicken and Swine) NC II, Plant Crops (Agricultural Crops Production NC II), Raise Organic Small Ruminants (Organic Agriculture Production NC II), and Produce Organic Concoctions and Extracts (Organic Agriculture Production NC II). Furthermore, nine deaf learners from Silay SPED Center and one interpreter from Silay PDAO Office were also granted a scholarship. The comprehensive rollout aims to reach both urban and rural communities, offering beneficiaries pathways to employment, livelihood, and entrepreneurship. *
