Rep. Javi is the new chair of House Special Committee on Creative Industries

Just a day after being appointed Chairperson of the Special Committee on Creative Industries, Negros Occidental Third District Rep. Javier Miguel Benitez visited major creative events and engaged with stakeholders in the sector, August 1. In a social media post, Rep. Jaiv shared that his first day was spent visiting the ArteFino Fair 2025 and the Offbeat Pop Up. The lawmaker also met with former Pangasinan 4th District Rep. Christopher “Toff” De Venecia, the committee’s previous chair, along with his team, to discuss ongoing initiatives and the challenges that lie ahead for the country’s creative industries. His engagements extended to the Alagang Suki Festival, where he met members of the P-pop girl group BINI, alongside veteran artist Gary Valenciano and actress-singer Belle Mariano. He also attended the 80th Anniversary Concert of UNILAB and Mercury Drug. Rep. Javi’s early activities signal his intent to engage stakeholders across different creative fields to ensure inclusive growth and sustainable opportunities for Filipino talent. *
