Infrastructure projects under the Office of Negros Occidental Third District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez strengthen public service delivery and disaster preparedness in Talisay City, with expanded and fully equipped Multi-Purpose Buildings inaugurated today, April 15. In Barangay Concepcion, a 20-meter by 7-meter multi-purpose building was constructed with complete concrete structural works, electrical and plumbing systems, and interior finishing. The facility supports community programs, social services, and local gatherings, including neighboring barangays. Barangay E. Lizares opened a completed two-storey multi-purpose building that expands the capacity of the barangay hall. The structure includes reinforced concrete works, full architectural finishes, electrical and lighting systems, plumbing, and a PWD-compliant comfort room. It is also equipped with air-conditioning units and a fire alarm system, enabling a wider range of official functions and community activities. In Barangay Zone 12-A, a new two-storey Multi-Purpose Building was constructed, while the original one-storey structure was upgraded through roofing, ceiling, tile, plumbing, and electrical works, and was turned into a VAWC Center. Rep. Benitez said the projects are designed to ensure that infrastructure directly responds to community needs, particularly in delivering services and improving emergency readiness. The completed facilities enhance access to safe, functional public spaces while reinforcing the capacity of barangays to host civic activities, deliver essential services, and respond effectively during disasters. *
